The Guaranteed Premise

The plot centres on Phupha and Nanfah, two roommates at a university who have a strong bond and have been best friends for a very long time. Both reject the notion that they are romantically involved, despite the opinions of others. However, as their sexual tension grows, the two friends have a serious argument.

A few years later, they consider their strained friendship and hope to mend fences. Each episode of this two-part BL drama focuses on one of the main characters and tells the love story from their point of view.

Cast of The Promise

In the show, Phupha, also referred to as Phu, is portrayed by Kun Kittikun Tansuhas. Phupha, a university student, lives in a dorm with his best friend Nanfah.

The character of Nanfah, or Nan, is played by Kiak Wattikorn Permsubhirun. Nan is a university student who has known Phupha for a very long time. Being roommates, Nanfah and Phupha have a close relationship.

What took place in the previous Promise episode?

The Promise Episode 4 opens with Phupha practising his lines for Romeo and Juliet in the restroom while feeling ill. His distressed friend Nanfah rushes to his aid and tries to reassure him. The action then switches to the present, as Phupha heads to Nanfah to deliver a package.

Phupha is noted by Ken, Nanfah’s boss, who asks him to discuss their project. Ken believed Phupha was the best person for the job because he was straightforward and tenacious and had previously become well-known for his singing video. When Ken prompted Nanfah to consider casting Phupha, Nanfah finally agreed after some deliberation.

Phupha was approached by Nanfah late at night and asked to present a project at work. Nanfah was however reminded by Phupha of their assurance that he would never again be made to perform on stage. Phupha stepped in for Nanfah after he hurt his leg in the Romeo and Juliet scene at the start of the episode.

Due to his stage fright, Phupha avoided taking part in any public events or performances that would make him stand out. He told Nanfah that he was worried that if he took on the role of presenter, he might endanger his friend’s employment. Phupha’s concerns were acknowledged by Nanfah, who refrained from pressuring him to comply.

Phupha’s family called him while they were talking, and the two friends spoke with them. Phupha had concealed from Nanfah the fact that, contrary to what he had earlier claimed, he had not lived in Melbourne for the previous ten years. His family advised him to tell Nanfah the truth up front rather than waiting for her to learn it for herself. Phupha concurred but promised to follow through when the time was appropriate.

The next day, Nanfah told Ken that Phupha was on the fence about hosting the event. Ken insisted on his position though, and he gave the group the task of persuading Phupha to accept the position. The others in the office started looking for Phupha and persuading him to join their project in response.

5th episode of The Promise spoiler

Unfortunately, there is currently no information available about The Promise’s Episode 5. We are aware that Nanfah and Phupha are the story’s main characters and have been close friends since they were young.

Since Phupha’s father owned a coffee shop next to Nanfah’s father’s pharmacy, they had a shared childhood experience. But a decade later, after they both graduated from college, Phupha abruptly stops being a part of Nanfah’s life.

Without his dear friend, Nanfah is forced to embark on a new life while grieving and feeling alone. The focus of the narrative is on Nanfah’s adjustment to Phupha’s absence and their ultimate reconciliation.
