Craigslist is a free classified ad website that includes sections for jobs, products for sale, services, gigs, community, items wanted, discussion forums, and more. One of my favorite features of Craigslist is that you can publish a free ad without even joining up; simply go to the home page, select the “post to classifieds” link, and then post a free ad without registering in or creating an account. However, if you want to simply modify, delete, or repost, you must first register an account.
Craigslist was founded by Craig Newmark in 1995 as an email distribution list of friends featuring local events in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1996, it evolved into a web-based service that anyone could access by visiting Craigslist.org. The service now includes 50 additional countries, including Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, India, China, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Uruguay, Panama, Chile, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa, among many others.
To begin utilizing this service, you must first create an account; if you do not already have one, use the following link to register now: https://accounts.craigslist.org/signup. Once on the sign up page, enter your email address and the verification word, then click “Create Account” and follow the instructions. Return to this page after signing up to learn how to access the site; if you don’t know how, or if you’re experiencing trouble, follow the steps below.
